I am currently working with a multi-strategy Hedge Fund based across London and New York who manage several billion US dollars worth of assets. The fund currently has 3 people in their IT development team; 2 in New York and 1 in London. The aim is to bring on around 5 or 6 developers across these two locations in order to increase the emphasis they have on their IT function.
Being a relatively small team, the successful candidates will be exposed to a wide range of projects covering front, middle and Back Office. However, the emphasis will be on Front Office projects as these will have a critical impact on the returns of the business.
The firm operates in a Microsoft .NET environment using modern, cutting-edge technologies such as .NET 4.0/C# and the more functional F# and therefore candidates must have proven experience working in a .NET environment, having developed robust, multithreaded applications in the past (in a commercial environment.) Furthermore, a deep knowledge and experience with SQL Server database is absolutely essential.
Required Skills:
» Proven track record delivering multithreaded applications using C#/.NET 4.0
» Knowledge of modern, functional languages such as F# would be advantageous (not absolutely essential.)
» Vast experience with SQL Server Database.
» Numerate degree (Maths/Comp Science) from a top university (2:1 or higher).
» Highly Analytical, pragmatic approach to problem solving.
» NO FINANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
